Text:
Land desertification means the land deterioration in dry and semi-dry regions and some semi-wet and wet areas caused by climate change and human activities and other factors; simply, it is 'land retirement'or'land is becoming desert'.
Statue in quo:The total area of world decertified land is 48.8 million square kilometers, accounting 30%of total earth land; land desertification has been found in many countries and regions, and 6 million hectares land is becoming desert every year.(Picture 1-World Desert and Grassland Distribution, see the Picture below)

Origins of land desertification
Natural factors: Vegetation degeneration mainly caused by abnormal climate conditions such as drought,flood and landslide especially by severe drought that accelerates wind erosion and finally to desertification (Picture 2-Land desertification)

Impacts:
Severe desertification will deprive of land productivity, worsen eco-system and impose severe harm to agriculture production;
Land desertification will cause frequent sandstorm in many places;
Land desertification will change greatly land surface physical features, damage surface radiation balance and induce climatic and environmental change.

Countermeasures: Human being is unable to alter earth destructive natural conditions, but they are able to control own behaviors to delay land desertification process.
Specify a 'grazing free period'in each year; during this period, grazing is prohibited for grass recycling.
Return land for farming to forestry; no more farming in low-yield land in replacement of planting trees.
Facilitate state laws to combat criminals doing deforestation
Carry out forest plantation.
