Title: Chinese Environmental Protection Century Tour

Introduction: Chinese Environmental Protection Century Tour campaign has a history of 15 years since 1993. This campaign was co-organized by 14 governmental organizations including the Environmental Protection Committee of NPC, Ministry of Propaganda, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Land and Resources, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Agriculture, State Environmental Protection Administration of China, State Administration of Radio, Film and Television of China, State Forestry Administration of China, State Oceanic Administration of China, All China Federation of Trade Unions, China Communist Youth League Central Committee, All-China Women's Federation and China Association for Science and Technology, with the participation of 25 central and local press and medias institutions. The goal of this campaign is: to vigorously publicize China laws on environment and resource protection, praise the good practice and criticize the bad in executing these laws, promote the local government to enhance their efforts on implementing those laws and urge them to settle major environmental issues, and upgrade the whole society's legal consciousness as well as energy-saving and environmental protection consciousness.

Activities

All the activities were carried out centered on a theme each year since 1993 to 2007. The themes are: say no to environmental pollution, keep ecologic balance, treasure natural resources, protect water of life, protect resource for sustainable use, construct ten thousand li sea frontier, love the Yellow River, west China eco-tour, protect the Yangtze River, save resources, protect environment, promote forestry construction, rebuild beautiful mountains and rivers, treasure each inch of land, let the people drink clean water, promote the construction of a conservation-minded society, and promote energy-saving and emission reduction and human-nature harmony.
