Denmark medical scientist Finsen was born in Thorshavn on Dec. 15, 1860. He was committed to the subject of the spectrum impact on organisms, discovering the red light and infrared can cure smallpox and prevent the syndrome caused by light struck. Afterwards he again proposed treating pertinacious lupus patients by applying UV, which shocked the whole Europe and break a new path for medical science. He won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 1909 for his efforts in optical treatment.
