At local time 11 a.m. October 13, (Beijing Time 17 p.m. October 13), Norwegian Nobel Prize Evaluation Committee announced in Oslo to grant Kimdae-jung, President of Korea, Nobel Peace Prize 2000, to commend his contributions in Korean peaceful liberation and his efforts in Korean democracy and human rights development.
