In the afternoon of 22, June, The 2007 Nobel Prize Winner Forum Committee Harmonize MeetingOpened in Beijing municipal government. Vice chairman of CAS - Li Jinghai, vice mayor of Beijing-Lu Hao, principals of National Developing Committee, Technology Department, Environment protection bureau, Developing research center of state council, National science association and CCTV, undertake company and CAS relevant departments had joined the meeting. The meeting was held by secretary of Beijing municipal government-Li Xiaohong. The meeting had passed the general plan and discussed some important issues in preparation works.

The 2007 Nobel Prize Winner Forum which will be held in Sep.11-14 will be held by Beijing municipal government. The forum is mainly on "resource and environment"; invited many Nobel Prize Winners and famous experts to attend the forum. The holder wants to improve the understanding of the domestic academic circle and business circle on the international resource and environment developing situation, enhance the cooperation between China and foreign countries, make reference for the policy setting and strategy research, also improve the understanding of such area in the public.

Li Jinghai pointed in the meeting that, nowadays the resource and environment problem is more and more recognized-the global warming is especially a hot topic of the governments in different countries. We must treat the planning and organizing work of the forum seriously and enhance the academic communication to improve the international technology cooperation. Vice mayor Lu Hao praised the work done by CAS and Beijing municipal government in invitation works. He asks each department in Beijing to see the importance of this forum and make sure that the forum will be held successfully.

The forum includes the resource & environment protection forum, strategy forum, high level academic forum and save energy & long lasting development forum and some tour on relevant institutes and high schools. The holder wants to establish a platform for communication and make "Acdemic Beijing"brand through this forum; establish Beijing into an outlook of famous culture city and a modern international city.
