Richard R. Schrock(<noinclude>,Jan. 4,1945-),an American chemist,won the 2005 Nobel Prize for his contribution to Olefin metathesis reaction method in organic chemistry. Born in Berne of Indiana, Richard R. Schrock's life experience was briefly presented as the following: finished his education of high school in San Diego of California; in 1967 gained his bachelor's degree of University of California in the city of Riverside; in 1971 gained his doctor's degree of Harvard University;1971-1972 studied for his post doctorate in Columbia University;in 1972,joined DuPont Company;in 1975 began to teach in Massachusetts Institute of Technology and then in 1989 become a chemical professor of MIT. He was a member of American Academy of Arts and Sciences and United States National Academy of Sciences. He had two children. In 2005 for their contribution to Olefin metathesis reaction (a certain organic chemical technique),Richard R. Schrock, Robert H. Grubbs and Yves Chauvin won the Nobel Prize.
