Germany scientist Hans Fischer won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his researches into the constitution of haemin and chlorophyll and especially for his synthesis of haemin. Austrian scientist Karl Landsteiner won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discovery of human blood groups. American writer Sinclair Lewis won the Nobel Prize in Literature for his novels "The Street" and "Babbitt". Swedish Lars Olof Jonathan won the Nobel Peace Prize for leader in the ecumenical movement. The 31st Nobel Laureates on December 10, 1931 Germany scientists Carl Bosch and Friedrich Bergius shared the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in recognition of their contributions to the invention and development of chemical high pressure methods. Germany scientist Otto Heinrich Warburg won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discovery of the nature and mode of action of the respiratory enzyme. American scientist Irving Langmuir won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his discoveries and investigations in surface chemistry. British scientist Charles Scott Sherrington and Edgar Douglas Adrian shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their discoveries regarding the functions of neurons. British writer John Galsworthy won the Nobel Prize for his long story "The Forsyte Saga". The 33rd Nobel Laureates on December 10, 1933 British scientist Paul Adrien Maurice Dirac and Austrian scientist Erwin Schr?dinger shared the Nobel Prize in Physics for the discovery of new productive forms of atomic theory. Argentina Carlos Saavedra Lamas won the Nobel Peace Prize for his contributions on the ending of the war between Paraguay and Bolivia. The 37th Nobel Laureates on December 10, 1937 American scientist Clinton Joseph Davisson and British scientist George Paget Thomson won the Nobel Prize in Physics for their experimental discovery of the diffraction of electrons by crystals. American female writer Pearl Buck won the Nobel Prize in Literature for her novel"The Earth". Nansen International Office for Refugees founded in 1931 won the Nobel Peace Prize. The 39th Nobel Laureates on December 10, 1939 American scientist Ernest Orlando Lawrence won the Nobel Prize in Physics for his invention of cyclotron. Germany scientist Johann Butenandt for his work on sex hormones and Switzerland scientist Leopold Ruzicka for his work on polymethylenes and higher terpenes shared the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Johann Butenandt failed to be awarded due to Nazi's restriction. Germany scientist Gerhard Domagk won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for the discovery of the antibacterial effects of prontosil; he failed to receive this prize due to Nazi's restriction. Finnish writer Frans Eemil Sillanp?? won the Nobel Prize in Literature for his novel "People in the Summer Night".
