Germany writer Paul Johann Ludwig Heyse won the Nobel Prize in Literature for his short stories "Proud Sons and Daughters" and "Love of the Earth".

Permanent International Peace Bureau founded in 1891 won the Nobel Peace Prize for its dedicated work on the maintenance of world peace and the promotion of international cooperation.
